What DOES the BIBLE REALLY TEACH {About JESUS CHRIST}???

🕮 Author's Note🕮
For starters, I'm going to admit that this post will be very lengthy.     I'll be dealing with the Person of Christ from a Christian perspective as well as the Watchtower  view.      Will the two be compatible?

I have heard JW's refer to themselves as Christians and yet, in the 4th chapter of  "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" /"What the Bible can Teach Us?"  Jesus is reduced to the status of a creation.

All of that said, THE question becomes ;  WHY would JEHOVAH ;  GOD ALMIGHTY need a CREATED being to help Him do ANYTHING?!  🤷
In the  upcoming chapter, I will attempt to answer some more  common puzzlements faced by anyone participating in a 'Bible Study' with a Jehovah's Witness.

Once believing that John 20:28, 29 was the SLAM DUNK verse that would settle the issue once and for all, I've come to the hard conclusion that even the most obvious verses, to Biblical Christians,  are NOT obvious to people, whose publications deny the very ONE  (Christ) the BIBLE affirms.

We are dealing with two contradicting forces here, which rank-and-file Jehovah's Witnesses are not aware of.  They are told that their publications uphold and explain scripture and so they trustingly go along with what they are told.  However, such trust is not simple naivete.  In fact,  JW's trust their leadership because NOT to trust the WT hierarchy could  result in serious (TRAGIC) consequences.

Those who question WT doctrine could find themselves, at the very least, 'marked'  as those who cause division (Romans 16:17, 18) .  At the worst, full-out disfellowshipped, where no one in their congregation would be permitted to speak to them.  If they don't live in the family home, even JW parents and siblings would be forced to shun the DF'd Witness family member.  Friends since childhood would walk by without so much as a word.  So choosing to question Watchtower doctrine is a HUGE life-changer.  In too many cases, it's a life-ENDER.

Chapter 1
February 20, 2017

As I write this, I'm almost as befuddled as I am excited.
On one hand, Watchtower doctrine  {esp. where Christ is concerned} utterly confuses me.  I have read WT publications that say  Jesus is the archangel Micheal.  But then he is (as the New World Translation  Bible insists in their John 1:1) a god.

Question:  WHICH  IS  IT?!?!  Seriously!    According to Hebrews 1:14 angels are ministering spirits, sent to render service to those who will inherit salvation.   To read  Acts 4:12 one would very likely interpret that verse to mean that  Salvation is in Christ.  On top of which, angels have NO CREATIVE ABILITIES.   As well,  Hebrews 1: 4,   in  a commonly used Bible, says that Jesus is BETTER than the angels .  So how can Jesus be an angel and yet BETTER THAN the angels?

Would THIS be a fair illustration
of how JW's see Jesus and His
Father?
Onto the subject of  WT's John 1:1 . By this view, Jesus is a god.  This problem is two-fold, if you apply 1 Chronicles 16:26  It says that all the gods of the nations/peoples are idols but the LORD made the heavens.

Again, which is it?  Is the Word/Jesus a worthless god in keeping with the NWT John 1:1 translation?  OR, in keeping with that same verse, is the WORD/JESUS indeed God, manifest in the flesh (1 Tim 3:16 ~KJV)  .  After all,  Jeremiah 32:17 says that NOTHING is too difficult for God!
Isaiah 44:24  records that God created 'ALONE'  and 'By Myself'  (Who was with Me?~Isaiah 44:24 NWT) .  Excellent question!  Because JW doctrine contradicts this very verse.  In paragraph 1 of chapter 4 (Good News from God) insists that Jesus/Word helped in creation.  Sadly, JW's don't even believe their own Bible.  How can God have done something alone and all by Himself and yet, He needed a created being to help Him create?  Moreover, WHY would JEHOVAH,  God Almighty even require the assistance of a created being? Jeremiah 32:17?

I mentioned, at the very beginning of the chapter, that I was as excited as I was befuddled.  The excitement comes from the decision to take this whole 'study' as a research project for myself, rather than even attempt to convince an indoctrinated JW of anything.  At the end of the day, all any Christian can do is share what God puts on our hearts and minds to say.  How people respond to what is said is their choice.  This isn't about winning arguments but rescuing people from the condemnation that comes from denying their only hope of salvation.  (John 14:6,  Acts 4:11, 12)  .

I apologize for any repetition in this chapter, but sometimes it helps to repeat points that need to be emphasized.  Hopefully that habit won't become monotonous, but I make no promises.

Now, I have to finish studying the rest of the chapter (4) so I have questions the next time my friends and I meet.  Once the chapter is finished, I'll add the rest of my study notes to this page.  Here's to praying that this site is visited and read by those who need to see it!
Behold I stand at the
door and knock;  if anyone
hear my voice and opens the door
I will come to him and sup with him
and he with Me.

THANK YOU!!!! A Note of Appreciation to J.W. Pioneers for encouraging my BIBLE Study

In the last little while, I've been involved in a Bible study with the specific purpose of  learning what the Bible teaches in connection or contradiction with Watchtower publications I willingly received during and after my cancer surgery recovery.

What IS the World Coming to?
At this point, I was getting used to my 'down time'  already and using my time more constructively, what with the weather warming up.  And I'm pretty sure Jehovah's Witnesses were out before the leaves.   Anywho,  I would talk to the people who would put up a stand across the street from me, at the park, and accept the magazine I was offered.   From there, I began the process of comparing what the Watchtower publication would say about a specific theological aspect by what the Bible had to say.
The Awake magazines were more....socially minded, in terms of daily living. Proper use of money,  The economic situation, world conditions. No arguments there.  But I'd heard of the teachings of  Jehovah's Witnesses on CRUCIAL theological points.  (Deity of Christ being front and center)  so I wanted to be sure rather than taking second hand info as 'gospel'.  In the process of checking out that info, I discovered that I was putting more time into BIBLE study.  (2 Tim 2:15) .

Sadly, too few Christians, (myself included) don't make time for THE MOST important meal of the day; the MEAT of the Word of God. It is to that end, that I DO have to THANK the Watchtower people, who have, whether they knew it or not, gave me a much needed kick in the pants.  I was PROVOKED to check out what the BIBLE said. Comparing one source with the other.  The Bereans were commended for their studious approach to the Scriptures. No matter who they were talking to, they examined what anyone said by the scriptures.  The Bible is our FIRST SOURCE. No matter who you trust or think you can trust, it is ALWAYS a good habit to  'double check' what you hear from the chief source.   Don't just take someone's word for a doctrine.  Particularly if they tell you,  "What WE are teaching is from the BIBLE. We use Scripture.  Why do you need to question it?"

Unfortunately, too many people feel guilty for questioning such apparent honesty.  After all, there ARE scripture verses in the magazine.  On the other hand,  a good Bible teacher would commend the diligent search of theological issues.  I  hope my own searches uncover questions that will cause the ladies I've been talking to, to examine what they've been taking at face value.  Even as I don't wish to 'offend' these ladies, who've been great to talk to, the whole purpose of talking to them has been to share the REAL Jesus with them.

Thankfully, I got an opportunity pretty quickly;  though I didn't overtly state it at the meeting but waited and asked about 'The Divine Name'  (Jehovah) in an email;  comparing Psalm 83:18 to John 3:18 and Acts 4:12.

At the end of the day, all I can do is plant seeds.  If I ask such questions that cause too much discomfort the ladies don't want to return, I can only pray that such questions, asked in a spirit of compassion and fellowship of women around coffee, will find receptive soil.  The EGO has no place here. And dealing with the doctrines of the Watchtower lose their egos to the bizarre circular  'logic'.  This is why CHRISTIANS (believers in Christ~John 20:28) need to put the entire matter in GOD'S hands and allow ourselves to be used to HIS glory.

An argument won may exalt our pride, but it won't do anything for the Watchtower disciple, who might be looking for a way out, only to decide that the Elders were right about 'Christendom'.

Knowledge puffs up. Love edifies. (1 Cor 8:1)

Jewish Position on Blood (Go to the source)

Okay.... dealing with the hot topic of BLOOD and whether or not a Christians can take a blood transfusion,  I came to the conclusion that, since this prohibition started in the OLD Testament, then maybe it would be best to go to the Old Testament for our answer. Or, more practically, to those who adhere to it. Israel. Jews.

Now CULTURAL Jews might or might not care one way or the other. Non-religious Jews might have issues with blood transfusion on medical grounds (Aids) .  Understandable. However, as someone who used to donate blood, I can tell you that anyone who donates undergoes, at each appointment, very pointed questions, concerning their lifestyle.  I mean PERSONAL questions. So, if one doesn't feel like answering  deeply personal questions like that, then maybe donating is not a good idea.  Safe-guards ARE in place. Believe me.

Religious Jews, on the other hand, those who study the Torah know the Old Testament issues on this matter. So, if you are a Jehovah's Witness reading this post, PLEASE ASK A RABBI about this matter.  They would know and they'd give you the straight goods. Remember, it is against JEWISH LAW to eat blood.  They were the first group G-D handed this prohibition to. So if anyone would know, they would.

http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/625443/jewish/Is-blood-transfusion-permissible-in-Jewish-belief.htm
In the meantime, one place in the Old Testament that does address this issue is Leviticus 17.  Verse 15, specifically, offers the remedy for someone who slips up in the matter of eating blood.  Taking a bath, washing your clothes and being outside the city until sundown.  For me, that would amount to taking a Greyhound to Gimili , finding a hotel, taking a shower and then wearing new clothes while washing your 'tainted' clothes....the clothes the sin was committed in, at the local laundy matt and then maybe going to the library or a movie or the mall til sundown or the next day and then take the bus home.  Problem solved.  It's NOT the big issue that it's been made out to be.

Again, however, don't take my word for it. ASK A RABBI.  There is a Rabbi's name in the link above.  I asked a local Rabbi and he said that the prohibition was exclusively ingestive/digestive.  In other words....DIETARY.   Ask and find out.

Then there is the plain simple fact that BLOOD is IN our VEINS.  I've heard the most bizarre reasoning;  insisting that, if a doctor told you that you could no longer drink alcohol , would you inject that booze into your veins?  😱  Uuuuuhhhhhh  there is a smidge of a difference, here. And by SMIDGE, I mean a WHOLE LOT of difference.  See, ALCOHOL does NOT  flow through the veins. Blood does. BLOOD is in our veins. It is created by the body to flow from the arteries to the veins.  This is called the CIRCULATORY SYSTEM.   The Circulatory system works differently from the DIGESTIVE system.  Blood, introduced into the body, via the veins, is NOT digested. If this were the case, we'd ALL be DEAD!

Seriously.  LIVES have been LOST for NO REASON.  Don't let your life be the next.  KNOW FOR SURE!

"Was Life Created?" Genesis 1, John 1:1-4 Isaiah 44:24 (Impass?)

    Dear JW Friends;
OY, I only just asked ONE question and I'm already asking another.  Answer as many as you want and can in a given day. See, another plus to writing rather than talking is that you have time to answer questions, one at a time, instead of my firing questions, one after another.

A few days ago, I got the magazine, "Was Life Created?" as I was on my way to work. I concurred, YES, life WAS created. Evolution simply does NOT make sense. Even Darwin admitted that, to believe the eye came about as a result of natural selection and random chance is absurd, given all the eye's functions. There's NO way so many intricate workings can come about by chance. Yaay! We're on the same page.

The dilemma comes about when we consider WHO created.

  •     Genesis 1 says, "IN the beginning, GOD created..."

  •     John 1:1-3 says, "....All things were created through HIM and without HIM nothing was made that was made...."

  •     BUT then... Isaiah 44:24 says that "...I made all things BY MYSELF."

Q: In the O.T. Jehovah Created. In the New Testament, JESUS created, but in Isaiah 44:24, God said that HE created ON HIS OWN. HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Thanks!

Dear J.W. friends....

Supreme Court of Appeal
I've left this page OPEN for people to post questions on, and so I can ask questions. (vice versa)

I don't know about you, but when I get something in my head, I tend to bulldoze over people, so I'm the one always talking. That's hardly fair!   Posting on a site like this makes it LESS disruptive to you and gives us both time to look up our answers. I hope to hear from you on the various questions that I post.

In fairness, I do want to keep it peaceable. We may likely disagree on various issues, but let's try to be reasonable and friendly. Best case, at least civil.

ANYONE coming onto this site with the express intent of causing arguments will be blocked from the site.  If I am called on a matter where I've been less than patient, I will apologize. I have relatives. I'm used to apologizing.  ;)

That said, onto the first question:....

Q:  What IS the Jehovah's Witness Gospel?   I say this out of GENUINE CURIOSITY as I've spoken to JW's on the way to work but never able to get into any indepth discussion, as I'm on my way to work and usually in a hurry.
